- Penny Dreadful was set up in 2003 by Mira Dovreni & Philippe Spall, with the aims of creating imaginative and accessible physical theatre for new audiences. It is the only theatre company committed to taking intriguing but long forgotten people from history and re-examining their stories – the famously forgotten. They create theatre not just for general public but for more specific audiences who have a connection with the story.
